About Dr. Christopher Chan

Dr. Christopher Chan was born in southern California and attended the University of California, Los Angeles for his undergraduate studies.
He then continued his education at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in the top 10% of his class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. While at USC, he was elected President of the student body and also served as the American Student Dental Association Delegate. Furthermore, he was involved in treating underserved populations through the AYUDA International program and received scholarships to travel to Panama, Belize, Guatemala, and Colombia to treat impoverished communities.
He then completed an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern / Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas before returning to attend the Keck School of Medicine of USC and graduate with a Medical Degree (M.D.).
Dr. Chan completed a six-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training at USC with extensive experience in dental implants, dentoalveolar extractions, orthognathic / corrective jaw surgery, maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, oral pathology, craniofacial/cleft surgery, and general anesthesia. He received a General Surgery certificate from LAC+USC Medical Center. During his training, he also first authored several peer-reviewed articles in the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal, and The Journal of Craniofacial Surgery.
He is licensed in both dentistry and medicine in California. Dr. Chan is also an active member of numerous professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southern California Orofacial Academy, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association.
Dr. Chan is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Board Certification demonstrates knowledge of skills and competence of the standards of the specialty. As a Diplomate of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, he maintains active surgical privileges at Huntington Hospital.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, cheering for the LA Lakers and Rams, and basketball.
